What is Mandriva?

Mandriva Linux formerly Mandrakelinux or Mandrake Linux is a Linux distribution from France that is distributed by Mandriva (formerly MandrakeSoft).  Mandriva Linux uses the RPM Package Manager. Mandriva Linux release period is 18 months for base updates such as Linux, the system software, etc. and 12 months for desktop updates such as the window manager, desktop environment, I, etc.). Mandrake Lnux logo was changed in line with this change.In April 2005 MandrakeSoft announced its acquisition of Conectiva, a Brazilian company that produces a Linux distribution in Brazil speak Portuguese

 and Spanish in Latin America.

As a result of the acquisition of Conectiva and a legal dispute with Hearst Corporation, MandrakeSoft announces new company name would be Mandriva, Mandriva Linux and a new name for the name of the product.

Features and Mandriva Linux Version

Every Linux distribution Mandriva always include three main features, namely Installation, Control danAdministration. 1. Mandriva Linux Free

2. Mandriva Linux One

3. Mandriva Linux Powerpack

Mandriva Powerpack also includes the type of traditional Linux distributions such as Mandriva Free.
